I am wondering…have you ever made a December Daily Album before or heard of this type of Album? It is an album filled with memories starting on the first of December and going through to the 25th of December – Christmas Day. The idea was created by Ali Edwards and is used to document the 25 days leading up to Christmas. The simple goal is to capture the spirit of December via one story per day.
This year I made my first ever December Daily Album. I have to be honest and say the thought of committing myself to a December Daily Album has always slightly scared me in the past…I’m often on the 5th day of December before I realise it is December and then I think how will I ever keep up with this Album? So I usually don’t start it. December is usually a very busy month for us (like I imagine it is for most people)and I’m often not up for the extra pressure of a Daily Mini Album as well as shopping, preparations, travelling etc etc in December.
Well this year I have made it really easy for anyone who would like to have a go at a December Daily Album in a simplified version that you could easily fit into a busy December and catch up if you missed a few days. You can prepare your Album now and have it all ready to go for December. Then you can just add your photos and have fun decorating it with the gorgeous Kaisercraft Glisten Collection to really get you in the spirit of Christmas!
To make this project easier I decided on 25 words – one for each day and printed them out onto white card. I made up my 25 words from lists of December Daily Photos I found on Pinterest. Then I cut them into banners and layered them onto Gold Foil Card Stock. If you make this Album in December all you have to do is take one photo per day to match each word. So the word for December 1st is tree, this means you take a photo of a Christmas Tree. To keep it flexible for those who have a busy December if you happen to put your tree up a week later simply swap the word tree for later in the month, or take a photo of a beautiful tree you see somewhere else, like in the shops or at a friend’s house. This project can be made as flexible as you need it to be to suit your December and life. The words have no numbers attached to them so can be used in any order in the album.
Here is a video of my completed Album:
I printed the majority of my photos in black and white and kept to the colour scheme Gold, White and Black. This took all the guess work out of trying to match the colours in photos with papers and gave the album a uniformed look. On the pages I added a photo for every day leading up til December 25.

To decorate my Album I used the gorgeous Glisten Collection. This Christmas Collection is one of my favourites from the Christmas Collections Kaisercraft has released this year. I love the gold and silver together, but for this album I used mainly the gold papers including:
I used a combination of Gold and Black Number Stickers for the days in the Album. These can be stuck on the photo underneath the pocket page or on top of the pocket page.

I used Licorice and Champagne Glitter Card Stock for the Decorative Dies.
For extra embellishment the Wooden Flourishes are the perfect solution. I painted mine in gold to match the colour scheme and added some sparklets. Kaisercraft have a wonderful range of Wooden Flourishes for this project I used:
