Miss Betty Cards with Instructions

I made this set of Cards for the February Kaisercraft Workshop Magazine.  They were really fun to create.  I have included the instructions in case you would like to make them too!

Select 10 papers from the Paper Pad and cut 10 squares measuring 5 1/8 inches x 5 1/8 inches (13cm x 13cm). Keep the 20 rectangular strip scraps left over from each page and trim to 5 1/8 inches x 1 ¼ inches (13 cm x 3.5 cm). Distress the edges of each rectangular strip and each background square with a distressing tool.

Adhere the two rectangular strips horizontally across each square with double sided tape. Using a sewing machine zigzag machine stitch around the edge of each square and along both sides of the rectangle strips. Position square onto card base with five of the cards make the strips go horizontally across the card and with the other five of the cards make the strips go vertically down the card. Adhere with double sided tape.

Layer a doily onto the front of each card with double sided tape.

Cut tags from Coconut Card Stock and ink five tags with Petal Pink Ink and five tags with Island Ink. Tie matching organza ribbon into each tag. On the cards with rectangle strips going horizontal, position the tag vertically on top of the paper doily. On the cards with the rectangle strips going vertically position the tag horizontally on top of the doily double sided tape.

Cut a piece of cheesecloth for each card and position on top of the die cut tag.

Choose at least two collectables for each card and layer on top of the cheesecloth with mounting foam and Acid Free Craft Glue. Choose a sentiment for each card from the Collectables or the Paper Pad and layer onto the card.

Choose one or two Wooden flourishes for each card and ink them with Petal Pink or Island Ink. Adhere to card with Acid Free Craft Glue.

Embellish card with Mini Paper Blooms and Pearls.

I have loved playing with the Miss Betty Collection.

Thanks for stopping by,
Alicia xx
